Let me start off by saying I've never written a blog before. So let me start with a quick introduction. My name is Dylan. I am 27 and live outside Edinburgh in Musselburgh. I love all things with an engine. In my spare time, I read and listen to books or podcasts. Spend time with my fiance and enjoy the peaceful life Musselburgh offers.
I started DJGSocial in 2019 after working with my dad for several years doing his social media for his car detailing business. I didn't realise how impactful a social media presence was until I learned more about the art of Social Media Management. Being able to share my dad's work online with like-minded people came naturally to me because the posts I was making were the EXACT content I was consuming on my own Social Media feeds.
Since then I've been on a whirlwind of a journey consuming any and all content about social media. Listening to Gary Vee until all hours of the morning, audiobooks about creating a community online. Even right now I'm listening to episode 257 from the ProBlogger.
DJGSocial was my attempt at providing Social Media Management services to local businesses in Musselburgh. I managed a handful of clients' Facebook and Instagram pages. I had a lot of success just by doing the basics; the value I provided was taking on the sometimes laborious process of keeping up with sharing their work with their followers. Being able to help local businesses thrive online inspired me to take things seriously, and thus Ember was born.
